06/24/08 Orlando, FL - AAU Hockey announced today the creation of the American Inline Hockey League (AIHL).

This new league is designed to provide elite adult men’s players a competitive forum as they transition beyond the traditional youth ages. The league will debut this fall, with teams from several regions across the United States. The AIHL will serve those players in the U.S. that aspire to play inline hockey at the highest level.

The goal of the AIHL is to bring structure to the sport of inline hockey across the U.S. while aligning with USA Roller Sports, the national governing body of inline hockey. The AIHL will be operated by the club owners and sanctioned under the banner of the AAU/USARS. Many organizations have already committed to participating in the AIHL for the 2008/09 season.
